Winter in the Rockies will never be the same. Professional and amateur athletes converge on Vail, Colorado, February 8 to 10, 2013 for the Winter Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer. And spectators come from all over to celebrate adventure sports, music, art and the great outdoors!
The second annual Winter Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer feature competitions in mixed/ice climbing, mountain cyclocross, Big Air, and dual slalom biking, Nordic and telemark skiing, ski mountaineering, snowshoe racing and ascension with $60,000 in prize money on the line. Star-studded free concerts and free action movies wrap up each day’s entertainment.
On Thursday, February 7, get ready to dance (and kickoff the Winter Mountain Games) at a free concert by Ana Sia & Kraddy. On Friday – after an action-packed day of competitions in events like ice climbing and snowshoe races – the Flobots will entertain Vail audiences. Saturday brings show-stopping events like Big Air, Dual Slalom Bike, a Winter Obstacle Race and Best Trick Bike followed by a performance by John Brown’s Body. The Games draw to a close Sunday with a photo contest, the Ultimate Mountain Challenge and the wildly popular event, 7 Wonders of Vail.
