Take a Day Trip to Leadville or Twin Lakes Colorado

Enjoy Leadville Colorado's History

Summer is speeding by, but there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy our beautiful weather. In addition to all of the events planned for the next few weeks, you can still hike or bike our trails, tour our historic districts, play golf, go fishing, squeeze in a camping trip, take a fall drive on the Top of the Rockies Scenic and History Byway, or just kick back and take in the views.

Music, History and Fall Foliage
They say that variety is the spice of life, and that’s certainly the case when you look at our calendar of events.

If you’re a music lover, you won’t want to miss the PB & Jam Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, Aug. 27. With a line-up of bands that hail from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana and Oklahoma, the PB and Jam Bluegrass Festival brings a day full of foot-stomping, high-energy music to Leiter Field. In addition, Judy Collins is returning to the Tabor Opera House on Sept. 15.
The Molly Brown Weekend at The Delaware Hotel is Sept. 3-4; and Leadville: Dead or Alive! historic tours of the Evergreen Cemetery and Healy House Museum on Sept. 17.

Love to compete? Enter the 12/24 Hours of Leadville Mountain Bike Race from the Leadville Race Series on Sept. 3-4. Fancy antique cars? The Model T Tour Club hits town Sept. 20.

A fan of fall foliage? The Mineral Belt Gold Tour on Sept. 10 and the special fall photo train rides on the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad on Sept. 17-18 are two of many ways to enjoy Leadville’s legendary fall colors.
