On the first day of Bravo! festival tickets being on sale, 2011 ticket sales tripled 2010 sales. “It is unbelievable,” says Nancy Stevens, ticket and donor fulfillment manager at the Festival. “The phones didn’t stop ringing.” Sales for the New York Philharmonic are strongest with July 29 (Gershwin, Ravel, Rodgers/Porter/and Loewe) and July 24 (Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky) taking the lead. The top-selling concert for The Philadelphia Orchestra is July 8 (Rachmaninoff and Rimsky-Korsakov) and Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s top selling concert is July 3 (A Night at the Cotton Club).
