Greetings from Camp Hale! We’ve had a beautiful, warm week and now that the sun is staying out a little later each day, we’re adding a late afternoon tour time to our Tigiwon snowmobile program. The 3pm two-hour Tigiwon tour picks up in Vail and Beaver Creek at 3pm with an expected return around 7pm. No more choosing between skiing and snowmobiling as you can knock out both in a day. Of course, we are still running all of our standard Tigiwon tours just outside of Minturn with a total of four tour times daily: 8:30, 11, 1:30, and now 3pm as well.
Top of the Rockies and Snowcat Tours – Our half-day and full-day Top of the Rockies and Snowcat tours are a great way to see the historic area of Camp Hale. Home to the famed 10th Mountain Division, these tours encompass a great blend of history as we ride on the very same trails used by nearly 15,000 troops in WWII. We can explore some of the remaining infrastructure of Camp Hale and in addition to the historical significance of the area, guests experience the natural beauty that the White River National Forest has to offer. Climbing to elevations above treeline at about 12,500 feet, this trail system provides unsurpassed views of Mt. Elbert, Mt. Massive, the Continental Divide, the Sky Chutes, and 4 different major mountain ranges.
