Vail Valley in February: Valentine’s Day

Consider this Romantic and Fun Weekend getaway: come to the Vail Valley to celebrate all the February holidays. Valentine’s Day is Monday, so come on the Friday before. On Valentine’s Day or any fine day in the Vail Valley, there are lots of free things to do.

Vail. If you love java, take a free coffee or tea tasting tour at Vail Mountain Coffee and Tea. It will perk you up no matter the time of day.

Snowshoe up Vail Mountain as far as you can go – OR – go to Beaver Creek and snowshoe up Dally on Beaver Creek Mountain. Trek up as far as your training allows. The views are stunning. Free.

Vail. Join a naturalist for a complimentary hour-long snowshoe tour through Vail’s mountaintop forest. Identify tracks, learn about winter adaptations, and revel in the snowy landscape. Daily 11am and 3pm through April.

Beaver Creek. Free Mountain Tour for skiers and snowboarders. Meet daily at the top of the Centennial Ski Lift for a tour of Beaver Creek Mountain and the surrounding views. Free.

Vail Valley. Window shop for next year’s ski and snowboard equipment. Dream and plan and get all the information you need to make a decision when you’re ready to buy.

Summit County. Take a day trip to Breckenridge for a glass blowing demonstration at GatherHouse Gallery.

Vail. Go to the Vail Library and read about love. Read each other poems, and then write one. If you’re in Avon, walk along the pedestrian path next to the Eagle River and then stop in at the Avon Library and find out just who St. Valentin was.

Avon. Have lunch over at Ticino; use What To Do coupons for discounts. Or go to Blue Plate Bistro for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Use the What To Do coupons for excellent deals.

Beaver Creek. Free Chocolate Chip Cookies are distributed after skiing. When you finish that last run, take a look around at the bottom of Centennial on the deck for the chefs with trays of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
