Update: Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability in Vail Colorado

GREEN SCENE October 2010
Old environmentalists never die: they just run away. After years in the trenches, two old soldiers are leaving to make ice sculptures and count church steeples. Jack of All Trades, Julie Norberg, and Master of None, Matt Scherr, are throwing in the organic cotton towel. They are all grown up now and ready to move out of the house. And while they are happy to be moving out and on, they are even more excited to have left the house in good order and in even better hands.

The Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability is excited to announce Jennifer Schenk as its new executive director. Jen brings not only a broad business-based sustainability perspective to the Alliance, but nonprofit experience and a degree in environmental policy and management from the University of Denver to boot. Jen has been volunteering and serving on the board of Summit County’s version of the Alliance (the High Country Conservation Center) for ten years, so she must know what she’s getting herself into. She will still have Debbie around to do all the hard work and Alyssa to do all the dirty work, but heavy mantle of leadership will rest upon her shoulders alone.

So while it is always sad to see Julie and Matt go, we are tickled green about the new vision and fresh perspective Jennifer Schenk brings to the party. Now get up and do the Happy Pants Dance!
