Glenwood Springs Commemorates Nation’s And City’s Birthday
The 4th of July in Glenwood Springs is always a special, fun-filled day and night that concludes in a dazzling display of fireworks. This year celebrates the birth of our nation and commemorates the 125th birthday of the City of Glenwood Springs.

Special events on Sunday, July 4th: the Glenwood Downtown Partnership will host its 4th of July Fanfare and fashion show. This is a great time to stroll, shop and enjoy the ambiance and the sales at local boutiques and stores. Glenwood’s downtown will roll out specials and discounts that include sidewalk sales, lunch specials, coupons for restaurants and ongoing entertainment throughout the day in downtown Glenwood Springs and at Two Rivers Park. The 125th Community and Friends Picnic. Music, food, games and fireworks events kick off at 4:30 PM with organized games for children and live entertainment. Starting at 5:00 PM, the local Elks club will serve hamburgers and hot dogs for a price not seen in decades. A scant $1.25 buys a meal with a drink and an entry into a prize drawing. At this price it’s easy to treat family, friends, and neighbors.
You can win a number of prizes that include weekend stays at Glenwood Suites and Comfort Inns, Hotel Colorado and Holiday Inn Express, a couple’s massage at Spa of the Rockies, horseback riding at Sunlight Mountain Resort, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park passes, and Glenwood Hot Springs Pool passes.

No 4th of July celebration would be complete without patriotic music and classic American songs. Symphony in the Valley, a local orchestra with all volunteer musicians, will play everyone’s favorite tunes including pieces from Sousa, Copland and other American composers beginning at 7:30 PM. The Glenwood Springs High School Percussion Ensemble will perform the piece commissioned by the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association in honor of Glenwood’s 125th birthday. Hear “Where the Rivers Meet,” an original composition that is meant to capture the beauty and grandeur of the Glenwood Springs area.

Finally, the entire day culminates with a colorful display of fireworks beginning at approximately 9:30 PM. Bursts of color light up the night and bring out the kid in everyone. Don’t miss this special 4th of July celebration in Glenwood Springs.
