10 Things To Do on Easter Break in Vail and Beaver Creek

Come to Vail for Easter Break to see what the Big Bunny has hidden for you. Stashes of powder are likely surprises, and a schedule of spring events make the Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts a delight for spring skiing and boarding, then apres-skiing.

1. Easter Eggstrvaganza-The Easter Bunny is coming to Beaver Creek! He will oversee the annual Beaver Creek Resort Easter Eggstravaganza which will take place on the snow at Creekside Park and features an Easter Egg Hunt with 3,000 eggs and other fun giveaways. After the big egg hunt, the Easter Bunny will grab a seat in his throne and welcome little guests for a meet and greet. Don’t forget to bring your camera and get a picture with the Easter Bunny.

2. Head to Lionshead on April 3rd for an Easter egg hunt put on by the Vail Rec District.  More information to come!

3.Vail Film Festival-Vail Film Festival, presented by Vail and Beaver Creek Due to the Vail Film Festival’s successful growth over the past several years, the event is expanding to Beaver Creek. This year the Vilar Performing Arts Center and Ford Hall will host some of the films as well as the closing awards ceremony. As film submissions and event details become finalized, updates will be available at www.beavercreek.com.

4. Friday Night Flights and Big Air/ Wall Ride at Golden Peak. Local contest series for athletes of all ability levels The goal for this competition is to offer an event at Gold Peak that will be offered to an Open Class. Prize money will be awarded for winners of both sports. The event will be opened to Snowboarders and Skiers.

5. The Crystal Grotto – New this winter, guests can experience North America’s only performing arts center created from ice and containing instruments carefully hand-crafted from ice. The Crystal Grotto at Beaver Creek is located near Spruce Saddle Restaurant. Performances at this unique ice theater are at 1pm and 3pm on Saturdays, Sundays and select Fridays throughout the winter.

6. Horse-Drawn Sleighride dinner at 4-Eagle Ranch- Crisp mountain air, starlit skies and an open horse-drawn sleigh await you at 4 Eagle Ranch. We’ll pick you up at your front door and take you back to the way Colorado used to be. Check out a million stars in the endless night sky while snuggling under cozy blankets for an unforgettable sleigh ride in our private ranch setting. Enjoy a drink by the open-hearth fire in the historic Nelson Cabin (circa 1890), and some of finest cooking this side of the Continental Divide. You’ll be serenaded with memorable songs, and you’ll even get to roast a marshmallow or two by the campfire.

7. RISE UP! Reggae Sunday’s with DJ WEEZ and JAH STONE at the Sandbar- One of a kind mix of the high grade Reggae music. Including Roots, Lovers Rock, Dancehall, Soca and more. $2 Red Stripes and no cover (unless live band).This is the longest running reggae dance party in Colorado and the best!

8. Lecture at the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum-Life at Camp Hale with 10th Mountain veteran Sandy Treat 2:30 – 4:30pm on Friday’s.First hand account of how the 10th Mountain ski troopers trained and survived at Camp Hale while preparing for World War II. Free to members.  Non-member suggested donation of $5.

9. Nature at Night: Come up to the Discovery Center at Eagle’s Nest on Vail Mountain at 6pm for a family nature talk followed by outdoor activities under the stars. The program will last between 30 and 45 minutes and topics will include astronomy and nocturnal animals. No reservations required and the event is free courtesy of Vail Resorts, USFS, and GRNSS. 10.Guided Snowshoe Tours- Join a Gore Range Natural Science School Naturalist for an hour long snowshoe tour through the forest atop Vail Mountain. Guided Snowshoe Tours Daily at 3 pm: 60 minutes in length at the Nature Discovery Center: All-seasons yurt adjacent Eagle’s Nest gondola and Adventure Ridge atop Vail Mountain.
