The Vail Nordic Center is open for the 2009-10 season and is offering approximately seven kilometers of terrain for early season Nordic skiing. Once conditions permit, the Nordic Center will offer 17 kilometers of groomed trails, plus 10 kilometers of separate snowshoe trails. The Nordic Center, which is located at the Vail Golf Club, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with on-site rentals for skate and classic skiing, plus backcountry skis and snowshoes. The Nordic Center also offers daily lessons for classic and skate skiing. Day use and season pass prices are as follows:
· $8 day fee
· $90 Adult Season Pass
· $80 Vail Resident Pass
· $50 Student Season Pass (scholarships available)
· Children under 12 are free
Ski and Snowboard Club Vail’s (SSCV) 42nd Annual Vail Town Series Nordic races, presented by East West Partners, will kick off the season beginning Wednesday (12-9) at the Vail Nordic Center. Costs are $10 for adults or $5 for children ages 13 and younger. This year’s series will be timed by the Vail Recreation District (VRD) and will offer Nordic enthusiast of all levels an opportunity to test their skills throughout the six-race series, which is a fundraiser for SSCV’s Nordic programs
Wednesday’s Nordic race is sponsored by the Happy Valley Grill and welcomes all ages and abilities for the Night Criterium, a Freestyle Fun race. Early registration is encouraged and an awards party will take place at Happy Valley Grill immediately following the race. Races begin at:
4 p.m. for Lower/Elementary School-Aged Competitors (1 kilometer)
4:30 p.m. for Middle School Ages (2 kilometers)
5:15 p.m. for High School & Adults (4 kilometers)

March 3 – Town Series Championship – Freestyle format (Vail Nordic Center)
March 24 – VNC Fiesta and Funnski with BBQ, Jumps & Bumps!
The track is maintained daily by the VRD. Snowshoers, ice climbers and walkers are asked to follow signage and utilize the snowshoe trail. Dogs are only allowed on the snowshoe trail and must be leashed to avoid collisions with Nordic skiers.
