It’s that time again! Submissions for the 7th annual Vail Film Festival are officially OPEN. We have exciting news for filmmakers and attendees for 2010. Due to an expansion of theaters we are able to increase our selected films from 60 to 90 over the 4-day weekend.
The festival has updated and added three more categories.
* We have broadened our Action Sports category, and it will now fall under the umbrella of Adventure Films. Adventure Films include action sports, extreme sports, travel and wilderness films.
*One of our new categories this year is our Activism Showcase. Activism films can include films on social activism or the environment. Film is the most important medium of our time. Film connects and influences people, and a great film can change the world.
*Our Family Film Showcase is the final new addition. We’re looking for family friendly films appropriate for youth and teens. As the biggest winter sports destination in America, Vail attracts families from all over the world. It takes a skilled filmmaker to make a film that appeals to both parents and kids.
The festival is looking for Features, Documentaries, Shorts, Student Films, Adventure Films, Activism Films and Family Films. We ask that all films be submitted through Withoutabox.com. It’s much easier to keep track of everyone’s contact information that way. All rules and guidelines are on our withoutabox page.
All films must have been completed after January 1, 2009.
