Some fine things make the drive from Vail to Red Cliff worthwhile. One is the stunning backdrop of mountains along Highway 24 as you ascend Battle Mountain Pass. Another is the outstanding fish taco you can taste on arrival. Finally, it’s just so great to get away and have that wilderness feeling after climbing to higher altitude. For a really big workout, you can bike up there but then you’ll want 3 fish tacos. You can drive and stop along the way to take photos.
