Take a road trip to Glenwood Springs on your next Vail, Colorado vacation

When you visit Vail, Colorado you can branch out and take a road trip to Glenwood Springs. It is such a pretty drive into the western end of the valley and then through the Glenwood Canyon with its high rock walls and fast-flowing Colorado River. Views from the Glenwood Canyon bike path make you just want to repeat the trip and pedal all day long. Glenwood Springs has the world’s largest hot springs with two swimming pools, a slide, shopping, and a health club. The town is at the confluence of the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers, and Glenwood has its own ski area, Sunlight Mountain Resort. A little further south is Aspen, and to the east along I-70 are Vail, Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, and Arrowhead ski areas. River rafting is popular, and river guides are based here. Fairly new to the area is the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Big and little kids love the discovery of precious stones and the thrill of caving. The Iron Mountain Tram takes you to the top. Glenwood has all manner of natural wonders and ways to relax and spoil your family and yourself. Once you’re in the pool that was Teddy Roosevelt’s favorite, you can soak it in.
