When the Vail International Dance Festival comes to town, it provides an opportunity to see the best ballet has to offer in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and Vail, Colorado. Many of the dance performances are outdoors with others in the intimate surroundings of the Vilar Performing Arts Center, on the Vail Mountain School stage, or in private homes. On August 3, get an UpClose look at the career of one of America’s greatest dance heroes, Edward Villella. The evening features performances by the Miami City Ballet and special guest artist, Ethan Stiefel, with examination of the many works created for and made famous by Villella, including masterpieces by George Balanchine© and Jerome Robbins.
