Hi, again.
It’s Rosie, and it’s time to start exploring the Colorado high country.
Welcome to the sixth edition of my Vail summer vacation Travel Tips. It’s interactive, so you can plan your Vail vacation with me and Funafar.com. And if you missed the first columns, check Related Posts below.
I love to travel on a whim or with advance planning, and I love the sights around these Rocky Mountains. I’ve lived in the Vail area since the early ’70s and have visited many countries and lived for a time in far-off places, but I always come home. One reason is a fine summer evening.
Oh, those hot summer nights. After a day of keeping busy and exploring new territory, mountain evenings are a welcome cool-down time. There’s still plenty to do, but the pace slows.
Here are some “hot” lodging options for Vail. Take a look at the great prices:
- The Arrabelle at Vail Square in LionsHead from $150 per night
- The Lodge at Vail from $126 per night
- Austria Haus in Vail Village from $99 per night

Have an early dinner and go to a concert. Take your dinner/picnic and go to a concert. Take a picnic dinner to the park or playground and make those kids happy. Then find a babysitter and have a night out, just the two of you.
