Vilar performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek presents Los Lobos Concert

Los Lobos Acoustic     March 24, 2009

Three-time Grammy Award-winning rockers Los Lobos have left their indelible mark on the American rock landscape over the span of 35 years in the music industry. Since they began as Los Lobos Del Este Los Angeles in 1973, they have evolved into a respected artistic entity using eclectic musical molds built on blues, rockabilly, jazz, Latin and their own Mexican-American heritage. In the past three decades they have released over 15 albums, won the Best American/Mexican Grammy for Anselma in 1984, and in 1987 their cover of “La Bamba” shot straight to #1 on the Billboard Singles chart where it remained for three weeks.

In September 2006, Los Lobos released The Town and the City to much critical acclaim. The album’s lyrics deal with vocalist/guitarist/drummer Louis Perez’s childhood in East Los Angeles, while the music portrays complex and original soundscapes.
