Cherryholmes March 10, 2009
As America’s first family of bluegrass, Cherryholmes won the 2005 International Bluegrass Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award. And this nod was no small feat, since their competition included bluegrass legends like Alison Krauss & Union Station, The Del McCoury Band and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage.
Debuting at #3 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart, their self-titled album received a 2006 Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album of the Year. Their follow-up album, Cherryholmes II: Black and White, enjoyed even greater success, topping Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart and earning the band their second Grammy nomination.
In 2008, Cherryholmes released Cherryholmes III: Don’t Believe. The album features richly constructed songs built on effortlessly blended harmonies and masterful instrumentation.
