Vail Nordic Center Track Opening

VAIL NORDIC CENTER TRACK OPENS FOR 2008-09 WINTER SEASON
(Vail) – The Vail Nordic Center track has opened for the 2008-09 season offering approximately 7 kilometers of terrain for excellent early season Nordic skiing. Once conditions permit, the Nordic Center will offer 17 kilometers of groomed trails, plus 10 kilometers of separate snowshoe trails. The Nordic Center, located at the Vail Golf Course, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with on-site rentals for skate and classic skiing, plus backcountry skis and snowshoes. The Nordic Center also offers daily lessons for classic and skate skiing. The retail shop offers a variety of merchandise for outdoor endurance sports, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, running, hiking, as well as skate, classic and backcountry skis and snowshoes. Day use and season pass prices are as follows:
·         $8 day fee
·         $90 Adult Season Pass
·         $80 Vail Resident Pass
·         $50 Student Season Pass (scholarships available)
·         Children under 12 are free

The track is maintained daily by the Vail Recreation District. Dogs are only allowed on the snowshoe trail and must be leashed.
Happy Valley Grill at the Vail Golf Club will provide the Nordic Center with homemade soups and cookies to be sold daily. They also are available for private party buyouts and rentals this winter. Contact Marc DesRosiers at 479-7321 for details.
