Skateboarding in the Vail Valley

Vail Valley Skateboarding

Learn to skateboard at the Vail Skate Park on top of the LionsHead Parking structure or at the skate park in Edwards. Skate instructors teach the basics on how to get started and more complex feats, such as board sliding or kick flips. Skateboarding is the perfect sport for children of differing abilities and ages to support each other and improve together.
Skateboarding has grown tremendously in popularity among kids and adults over the last few decades. This trend is reflected in Vail, where two fantastic skate parks (on top of Lionshead Parking Structure and in Freedom Park in Edwards) provide safe, established venues for the sport. Instruction is often available, but usually the venues are good places for burgeoning skaters to hone their craft. No reservations are necessary, but check for times of operation. Helmets are required; elbow and knee pads are a good precaution.
