Breathtaking artistry and acrobatics for the whole family.

For over 27 centuries Chinese acrobats have been thrilling audiences, making this tradition the longest running “folk art form” in history.  In China, acrobats are revered much the same way prima ballerinas and opera singers are in the West. The performers of the Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats are considered the best Chinese acrobats touring today.

The 2008 season marks their 30th annual US tour. They’ve earned a reputation for excellence and artistry unparalleled by any other troupe. Their performance style mixes award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary theatre and live music to present a show of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty.

World-renowned director Danny Chang and choreographer Angela Chang have combined their expertise, love of their art and life-long acrobatic discipline to bring the company from the Cangzhou, Hebei province in China to the stage in Beaver Creek. In 2006, both Danny and Angela Chang were nominated for New York Drama Desk Awards. They were given nods for Most Unique Theatrical Experience and for Best Choreography for Golden Dragon Acrobats of China’s eight-week engagement at the New Victory Theatre in New York City. They return to the VPAC in this much anticipated encore engagement, after selling out several years in the past.
