Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek presents "'Tis the Season

“‘Tis the Season” A Holiday Celebration         December 12 and 13, 2008

Celebrate the holidays Rocky Mountain style with “‘Tis the Season,” a concert to benefit the VPAC’s Community Performance Fund (see page 46). Talented performers from around the Vail Valley descend on the Vilar Center stage for an unforgettable evening of song, theatre and dance. The showcase evening features several local performing groups, in addition to the talent of Vail Valley professional musicians, who donate their time and talent to support “Home for the Holidays.” Past artists have included Pat Hamilton, Beth Swearingen, Peter Vavra and Don Watson. In 2008, performing companies in “Home for the Holidays” will include:

Vail Youth Ballet was formed by Friends of the Dance in 1996 to provide performance opportunities and training for the advanced ballet students in Eagle County. Since its inception, the Company has performed with David Taylor Dance Theatre, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble and danced all the principal roles in “The Nutcracker Suite.”

Vail Performing Arts Academy was founded to meet the growing demand for performing arts opportunities for local students ranging from 8 to 18 years old. The VPAA promotes the four “Cs”: Cooperation, Confidence, Creativity and Communication through the study of theatre.

Mountain Harmony has been performing throughout Colorado for nearly 20 years. With tight a cappella harmonies and ringing chords, this ladies’ form of barbershop music has become an American folk art.

Dickens Carolers, also known as the Vail Community Chorale, have performed together for more than 20 years. The volunteer group brings the Christmas spirit to all by dressing in period costumes and performing on streets in the Vail Valley throughout the holiday season.
