Canoeing is a wonderful way to see nature and enjoy some of the beautiful lakes and rivers in this area. Canoes can be rented at Piney River Ranch above Vail and you can enjoy the scenic beauty of Piney Lake and the majestic view of the Gore Mountain range. Canoes can also be rented at local kayak shops in the area. Explore the Class I and II areas of the Colorado River and the Eagle River. Make sure you know exactly where you are, as many of our rivers have whitewater stretches of Class III-IV that can take boaters by surprise if they are not careful.
